“Let the waters settle and you will see the moon and the stars mirrored in your own being.”
From the book Awakening: Conversations with the Master by Anthony DeMello
This is the explanation the Master gave his disciples:
“There are two ways to wash dishes: One is to wash them in order to make them clean; the other is to wash them in order to wash them.”
That was still far from clear, so he added, “The first action is dead, because while your body does the dishes your mind is fixed on the goal of cleaning them; the second is alive, becuase your mind is where your body is.”
“You’ve studied the Wudang Manual but you don’t understand it. You need a real master.”

As you may or may not know, I wrote a decent-sized section of my book Wing Chun Mind and made it available as a free download (see the link on the right side of this website). This was not a first draft, but still an incomplete draft. I’ve started working on finishing the book, pulling together all the sections already written and working on the rest of the content.
I’ve decided to workshop it on this site.
I’ve benefited from this approach when other people did it (for instance The Simple Path to Wealth was published in advance on the website http://jlcollinsnh.com/) and since its been taking me so long to do it that I’ve been neglecting this site, my plan going forward is to include chapters of the book along with the usual material on the site.
I’ve created a new category (which can be searched in the sidebar on the right) called Wing Chun Mind, of which this post is the first content. I’ll be posting sections of the book and also trying out new sections. It would be great to have this process benefit from reader engagement and feedback to help guide the composition. So if you have any thoughts, please let me know — you ca reach me at [email protected]. Thanks.
