Like Yuen Woo Ping (who we discussed a while ago), Jackie grew up at the Hong Kong Opera school. This art form required the students to learn all sorts of martial arts styles, but all directed to show rather than for street fighting. However, Jackie also grew up poor on the tough Hong Kong streets. I would say he studied most arts but mastered none. He and his brothers are early MMA adopters. His goal was always to look good, first on stage and then on film. But I wouldn’t mess with him – he is a phenomenal athlete and very experienced as a fighter.
Did Jackie Chan, ever train in Wing Chun, what types of Chinese Martial arts did he train in like 7-star Mantis, white tiger, eagle claw, Bagua or ??
